Lailson dos Santos was born in Ourém, Pará, Brazil, on June 1990. His bachelor degree in Computer Engineering from the Federal University of Pará - UFPA, was obtained in 2013, with emphasis on Telecommunications. He received the Kawaguchi award for best undergraduate student among all engineering courses, with a total grade (GPA) of 9.83/10. He received his master's degree in Electrical Engineering from University of Campinas - Unicamp, in the field of Telecommunications and Telematics, in 2014. In 2020, He received his doctorate degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Campinas, in the area of Telecommunications, with emphasys on digital signal processing (DSP) for coherent optical systems based on mode-division multiplexing (MDM). He is currently optical systems engineer at PadTec S/A. He has experience in WDM optical networks, including optical amplifiers, WSS-based ROADM architectures and coherent transponders.
